Speakers announced for our Nicaea Conference

The Society of St. John Chrysostom – Western Region is pleased to announce the program speakers for our Sept. 6 Light of the East Conference, “1,700 Years of Nicaea.” This half-day (morning) conference will feature speakers looking at what Nicaea meant then and continues to mean now for our understanding of Christian unity.

  • His excellency Bishop Nicholas Samra (retired), Melkite Greek Catholic Church
  • Mark Nauroth, author of “Power of the Creed”, St. Paul Greek Orthodox Church, Irvine
  • Very Rev. Fr. Pakrad Berjekian, pastor, St. Sarkis Armenian Apostolic Church, San Diego
  • Rev. Fr. Brad Guillory, United States Navy Roman Catholic chaplain

A continental breakfast will open the conference at 8 a.m., and it will conclude with a provided lunch and panel Q&A with our presenters.

The cost is $20 (plus the associated ticket handling fees); student price is $10 + fees. Deadline to register (and receive lunch) is 5 p.m. Monday, Sept. 1.
